This wasn’t the greatest of starts, it however kick started the all important bowel movement. ( which to anyone doing an endurance event, means hopefully avoiding a portaloo decorated by Bobby Sands.)\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\u0022\u003eMaking my way to the start, some 30 minutes walk away. I arrived and wriggled into my wet suit and made my way to the sea front with the other 2200 competitors for the 7.15am swim start. Then at 6.45am an announcement was made, that due to the Thunderstorms the swim was now cancelled. Informing us to make our way back to the car park near transition. So we all stood around like a bunch of seals waiting for our next instructions.\u0026nbsp;It was announced that you would get called to make your bike transition in the rows that we were racked starting from A. I was in E so had about a 40 minute wait.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\u0022\u003eHowever once on the bike at least I was on the move, until the heavens opened and I was struggling to see through the condensation on the inside of my glasses, with the rain stinging my delicate features.\u003cbr\u003eThe course was now littered with people struggling to fix punctures and navigating through the flooded roads.
