Cycling Time Trials

Petersfield Triathlon Club is affiliated to Cycling Time Trials (South District) - the body that's responsible for regulating time trials in England and Wales. We've affiliated so that our members can race regularly in time trial events without having to join a cycling club.Club time trials - a3crgClub time trials are the ones you turn up on the night and sign on and the ...a3crg club events start on Wednesday 11th May - so if you fancy giving it a go all you have to do is sign on at Greatham Village Hall on the night and race. Signing on is from 6pm and first rider off is 7pm. It can be very popular so don’t leave it until 10 minutes before the start to turn up and sign on or you may be unlucky. All you need is a bicycle in good working order, a working rear light a helmet and some coins to make a contribution to the tea and cake after. Every week has a theme - for example 18th May is road bikes and 1st June is a 2-up. For full details click HERE. Most club events are 10 miles but ...a3crg are running a 25 miler on 27th June which is great practice for anyone doing standard distance tri/duathlon. Club time trials - others in our areaThere are loads of local clubs that run club time trials in the evenings or at weekends. Here are a few:- Tuesdays - mostly on A31 at Bentley - Farnham Road Club - Tuesdays at Funtington - Hampshire RC - Thursdays - mostly on A31 at Bentley - North Hants RC - Thursdays at Wickham - Fareham Wheelers CC -!fwcc-2016-tt-events-and-results/c4dp- Saturdays - North Hants RC - Open time trialsIn addition to Club time trials there are hundreds of open events - they are the ones you have to enter on line in advance of the event on the Cycling Time Trials website ( For anyone racing standard, middle or long distance triathlon doing an open 25, 50 or 100 miler is invaluable training (Chrissie Wellington is a firm believer in the benefits of racing each discipline individually at the appropriate distance). To find events of these distances look at the CTT website and use the search facility to find TTs of the appropriate distance. Don’t forget that entries close 2 weeks before the event.
